After launching the Redmi Note 12 series with five different smartphones (including special editions) in China last week, Xiaomi is set to rebrand some of the models for India. Earlier leaks had revealed the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G may come as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge in India later this month, and now, the Redmi Note 12 5G launch in India is reportedly set to happen under the POCO branding.
The vanilla Note 12 was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, with the model number 22111317PI. While the full model number might be slightly different, the shortened one is the same as the Chinese Note 12 5G. The BIS listing hints towards an imminent India launch, probably towards the end of this month.

Redmi Note 12 5G features a 6.67-inch Samsung OLED screen with up to 1,200nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display also covers a 100 per cent P3 colour gamut, offers a high refresh rate, supports classic and paper eye protection modes, and is accredited with SGS certification for low blue light.

In terms of performance, Redmi Note 12 5G is the first to adopt the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 Mobile Platform, with an AnTuTu performance score of nearly 400,000, providing full support for daily use. It comes in three colours, blue, white, and black, in four storage variants, 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB, with a starting price of RMB 1,199 (approximately Rs 13,640).

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone sports a 200MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 16MP front camera. It offers a 5,000mAh battery with 120W Hyper charging support.
